We are proud of our surgeons at Northlake Surgical Associates. All of our surgeons are Board Certified in at least one surgical specialty. They have all completed at least five to seven years of surgical training after medical school, and have passed both written and oral examinations given by the specialty boards. Most of our surgeons have additional surgical subspecialty training, certification or special areas of interest.

Dr. Verhulst is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Colon & Rectal Surgery.

Dr. Ordoyne completed two years of training in Surgical Oncology (cancer surgery) beyond his General Surgery residency.

Dr. Cody has practiced over 25 years at our Franklinton location.

Dr. Buonagura brings to our practice the unique perspective of a female surgeon who can identify with the unique concerns of our female patients.

Dr. Heintz is from the Covington area and returned to the area after completion of his surgical training.

Dr. Carpenter has practiced in the area for many years with Dr. Heintz of Southeast Surgical Associates.

In 2005 Drs. Heintz and Carpenter merged their surgical practice with NLSA to become the largest surgical practice on the Northshore with over 100 years of experience.
